Twas the Night Before Speech Day

Twas the night before speech day when all through the house
Several creatures were stressing but it wasn’t the mouse
The speakers were practicing their speeches with care
In hopes that their grades would turn out to be fair.

The class was nestled all snug in their beds
But the speakers were stressing as words ran through their heads
It was time for these students to put on thinking caps
No time for rest, no play, no naps

When all of a sudden there arose such a clatter
They quickly sat up to see what was the matter
When what to their wondering eyes did appear
Their alarm clock was ringing as class time drew near

They’ve worked hard to prepare and now it’s official
So let’s give them a clap, a shout and a whistle
And thank you for listening that’s the end of this rhyme

Merry speeches to all and to all a good time.
